owner Teri Hope is announcing several exciting changes at her quaint gathering place where one can enjoy an excellent cup o' joe.
Hope has been leasing three rental spaces at 101 W. Main St., in downtown, for the past 30 years.
But now, she's consolidating her operations into two of the three spaces and taking a storage room in the back of the business to turn it into a retail sales area.
Seating capacity will remain the same at the popular coffee shop, which was established in 1982, Hope said.
Lease for the space being relinquished was up June 1. Hope gave up the space to sublessee cheese, charcuterie and wine bar, which is working with town officials to expand into it, Hope said.
"The experience for the customer will be the same. We won't be losing any seating as a result of the change," Hope explained.
Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company is one of the town's favorite gathering places for coffee, conversation and camaraderie. Coffee is roasted daily on premises and fills the heart of the downtown with its wonderful toasty aroma, according to the business' Web site.
Hope is considered a pioneer in the specialty coffee industry. She's a charter member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America and has served two terms on the SCAA Board of Directors continuing her longstanding active membership in the trade.
She's also an active community advocate who volunteers her time in several worthwhile causes such as Jazz on the Plazz, Music in the Park and local youth programs.
