Lorenzini Los Gatos to Host Grand Opening

Reception begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.; customers will receive 10 percent off purchases through Dec. 31.

Men's clothing retail store Lorenzini, 35 W. Main St., which opened at the former BabyBuzz location this summer, is hosting a grand opening celebration at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.

The business began remodeling the space it now occupies in May of this year. It has a second location in San Francisco at 2149 Union St.

The space was vacated in January when BabyBuzz closed citing changes in the market and the growing trend in online retail shopping.

Owner Shahbaz Akhtar said the grand opening celebration is open to the public and will include a reception with the ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

An advertisement announcing the special event offered customers 10 percent off purchases before Dec. 31.

Akhtar has owned the San Francisco store for more than 30 years.

"I'm very excited about opening in Los Gatos," Akhtar told Los Gatos Patch in May, adding that he had been looking to open a store in town for the past 15 years.

"We will sell very updated jackets, trousers, shirts, knitwear and European clothing for the modern man," he said.
