La Rinconada, Main Street Burgers Growing

Planning Commission allows club's increased membership and expansion of restaurant.

and will grow now that the Los Gatos Planning Commission has given them the go-ahead to increase their membership and expand, respectively.

By a 4-0 vote, with commissioner Marico Sayoc and Jane Ogle absent and commissioner Marcia Jensen recusing herself since her husband is a member of La Rinconada, the club was allowed to increase its membership from 511 to 571 members.

The additional members could increase traffic around the club by 80 daily trips, according to a staff report. The club, 14595 Clearview Drive, has 178 parking spaces.

In 2004, the town council increased the club's membership from 451 to 511. The club is comprised of three parcels totaling 125 acres. The site contains a 28,435 square foot clubhouse, a new fitness studio and pool house, swimming pool, 18-hole golf course, putting green and driving range, according to a staff report.

Speaking in favor of the club's increased membership was Rick Forney, general manager .

By a 5-0, with commissioners Marico Sayoc and Jane Ogle absent, planners OK'd the expansion of Main Street Burgers, 20 S. Santa Cruz Ave., into an adjacent space occupied by Cold Stone Creamery, which will be vacating the premises soon.

The restaurant is hoping to have 20 outdoor seats and 50 indoor seats.
