How to Get Free Frozen Yogurt, Pancakes

Two chain restaurants have created 'holidays' and will give out gratis food.

You won't find Hallmark cards for National Frozen Yogurt Day or National Pancake Day, but there are ways to celebrate the kind-of-made-up holidays in Santa Cruz.

National Frozen Yogurt Day is Monday, and there's one Yogurtland location near Los Gatos that will be serving up free yogurt and toppings from 4-7 p.m. It's located at 1790 So. Bascom Ave., in Campbell.

The company is also promoting literacy and education with First Book for which Yogurtland hopes to raise $20,000 to provide more than 8,000 books to kids in need.

But don't fill up on dessert.

IHOP is giving away free pancakes on Tuesday to celebrate National Pancake Day.

The restaurant also is aiming to raise $3 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in celebration of the organization’s 30th anniversary, so the pancakes are free but the restaurant would like customers to make a charitable donation.

Stop by IHOP in Santa Clara at 5403 Stevens Creek Blvd., or the one in San Jose at 644 N 1st St to celebrate, just be prepared for long lines.
