Go Daddy Opens New Office, Brings Jobs to Silicon Valley

Company hopes to double local workforce by end of 2013.

The domain and web-hosting company with racy Super Bowl commercials Go Daddy opened its South Bay office Monday.

CEO Blake Irving attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Go Daddy's newly leased 8,160-square-foot office within the Sunnyvale City Center office complex at 100 Mathilda Place. The Pheonix-based company decided on California instead of Texas and plans to double its workforce—currently at 40—by the end of the year, according to spokeswoman Kari Amarosso.

Go Daddy already has several employees working there, including those of former Mountain View startup . Outright moved in this January.

Irving planned to discuss the privately-held company's future plans, which included recruiting top Silicon Valley talent among them developers designers.

Last year Go Daddy's sales exceeded $1.3 billion, setting a company record in growth. It employs approximately 3,400 people—and is currently hiring for the Sunnyvale office.

Go Daddy has used famous race car drivers and models in its commercials, including Danica Patrick, Jillian Michaels and Bar Rafaeli.
