Former Domus Building Gets 5 Suites

One will become Liv La Vie women's clothing store and will open at end of March.

, 40 No. Santa Cruz Ave., has been remodeled into five suites and at least one business has already moved in.

Liv La Vie, a women's clothing store owned by Los Gatos resident Karen Giordano, is expected to formally open its doors at the end of March, according to an employee who was busy organizing the space this week and didn't want to be identified.

Broadway resident Lynn Brandhorst, who was walking his dog Trixie when Los Gatos Patch was checking out the remodel, said he wanted the other three spaces to be unique shops "that add to the local color. That aren't the same chains that people go to the mall for."

Liv La Vie will be located in suite 40 D, but it's not known at the this point who the other lessees will be, the employee said.

Domus closed down shop in May of 2011 citing rent increases after being in the location for more than 40 years.

Correction: This story has been changed. An earlier version incorrectly stated the number of suites that have been created at the old Domus building. Everyone makes mistakes, even us.
