Best Places to Cool Off in Los Gatos

You can swim in local pools, get splashed at Town Plaza or head on over to Lexington for non-power boating this summer.

Also known as the Community Aquatics Center, it offers public swimming 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 21 through Aug. 13 for all ages. Besides helping Los Gatans with their fitness goals, it also offers families with children a free one-day tryout of its pool facility and a swim-only pass for an unspecified amount. Details: 408-354-5808.

This sports resort offers families or individuals a free one-day entrance pass and a junior aquatics program for kids up to age 18 for an unspecified amount. The club features three swimming pools. Details: 408-395-7111.

TOWN PARK PLAZA: Located at the corner Montebello and Broadway in downtown Los Gatos, this quaint park features an interactive water fountain, planters, benches, lawn area and walkways. A great place to take the kids to splash around in the water. Details: 408-399-5770.

LEXINGTON RESERVOIR COUNTY PARK: This beautiful and scenic 914-acre park and reservoir is just minutes from the urban centers of Santa Clara County. The park includes the 475-acre man-made reservoir available for shoreline fishing and non-power boating. Details: 408-356-2729.
