BabyBuzz to Close Los Gatos Store

Boutique at 35 W. Main St. will shut doors Jan. 13; online store will continue.

Infant and toddler boutique BabyBuzz, which relocated from Willow Glen to Los Gatos last year at 35 W. Main St., has announced it will be closing the store effective Jan. 13.

BabyBuzz owner Karen Poznansky's cited changes in the market as reasons for the closure of her business, which has been in operation for four years. Her online retail website will remain and undergo a makeover, she said.

The mother of one and former software engineer wrote in her blog that the decision to close the boutique was much easier now than it would have been before. "Times have changed since I opened it, and I’ve changed too. People are standing in incredibly long lines ready to fork out their money for an iPhone 5, but people are not standing in line at your local baby gear retailer," she said referring to the growing trend in online retail shopping.

Poznansky offered customers brands such as Robeez, Fatboy, Toni Tierney and BabyCook, Skip Hop, Manhattan Toy, Zutano and Olian Maternity, to name a few.

The boutique has been offering classes and events such as stroller workout sessions by Baby Boot Camp, which meets at the store, and infant massage, baby sign language and haircuts once a week, said Poznansky.

Due to the store's closing, Poznansky said everything is now up to 70 percent off.

The building's owner where the store is located is Jay Conover and the space is still available for sublease. Poznansky said those interested in renting the suite should contact her at info@babybuzzcafe.com.
