Amour d'Art Gallery Opens in Los Gatos

Saratoga resident Carrie Scott is showcasing her impressive fine art collection at 216 No. Santa Cruz Ave.

After searching for several months for a location in town, art lover and curator Carrie Scott has opened her Amour d'Art gallery at 216 No. Santa Cruz Ave.

Scott, who worked in public relations, marketing and sales for nearly four decades, has quite an impressive art collection that she's showcasing at the small space in busy and popular downtown Los Gatos.

Scott officially opened the about 1,000-square-foot gallery, which had been operating online only for a couple of years, May 3. She's planning to hold an official public open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony soon.

The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday and Scott plans to have a Third Thursday Meet the Artist event. The first artist that will be featured is world renowned Laurie Regan Chase, who's been published in many magazines.

Scott said the gallery has an inventory of nearly 4,000 pieces. "I own every piece of it," she said, proudly.

The Saratoga resident says art lovers and connoisseurs in the Bay Area will rejoice to learn that she features the work of famous world artists such as Pino Daeni, Michael Godard, Hessam Abrishami, Romero Britto, Sam Park, Brian Davis, Royo, Garmash and Andrew Atroshenko.  "I've got all these on my walls," she said.

Scott said the gallery is also an authorized representative for Disney Fine Art with about 30 additional artists.

While the town does have the Los Gatos Museums Art Gallery, 24 No. Santa Cruz Ave., to showcase local artists such as David Stonesifer, she said there's no place to showcase world famous artists.

"I wish I was an artist," she responded when asked if she was one. "I don't have the talent, but I'm an art representative. I've purchased all the art that I'm selling."

Scott was born in Tucson, AZ and was raised in Northern California.

"Los Gatos is where people are really connected with the community," she said about reasons for opening in town. "My art collection is very eclectic. There's something for everyone."

After looking for two years, Scott said she's happy to be in Los Gatos.
