LOS GATOS CREEKSIDE SPORTS PARK GRAND OPENING

The opening program will feature Los Gatos Mayor Steve Rice, youth sports leaders and youth, along with the Los Gatos High School cheerleaders. Paula Poundstone live at the Addison Penzak Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 14855 Oka Rd., suite 201. Armed with nothing but a stool, a microphone and a can of Diet Pepsi, Poundstone's ability to create humor on the spot has become the stuff of legend. Limited VIP seating is now sold out. The Los Gatos Lodge presents its CarnEvil Halloween Party 9 p.m.-2 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at 50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Rd. in Los Gatos. The celebration features Johnny Neri Band and DJ Yoni Wunderman, beer pong and carnival

HOWL FOR HALLOWEEN IN LOS GATOS

Once again the Town of the Cats will go to the dogs 4-6 p.m. This Halloween dog event, originally started by Society Dog, continues this year as an ad-hoc meet-up of community members who are determined to keep this family friendly tradition going.

GOBLYNS GLEN

Goblyns Glen, a fully interactive fun and creepy experience for children of all ages, but especially for the young ones, 12 and under, returns this weekend dusk to 9 p.m. Thursday Oct. 25-28 and Wednesday, Oct. 31 Halloween Day at Los Gatos Oak Meadow Park, 233 Blossom Hill Rd. General admission is $10, with kids under 2 being free. The event includes a train ride on the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad and a carousel ride to Halloween music. Globlyns Glen and Shadow Hills combined ticket is $21. The VIP ticket is $15 and allows you to bypass the general admission line. An unlimited pass is $35. SHADOW HILLS

Shadow Hills' mansion opens a half hour after Goblyns Glen has escorted its last child out, with all new effects and scares and is NOT recommended for children or the faint of heart. The event is being held 9:30-11 p.m. Oct. 25-28 and Wednesday, Oct. 31 Halloween Night. Groups will be limited to four people, thereby guaranteeing a more intimate, intense experience for those brave enough. General admission is $13 and a combined Shadow Hills and Goblyns Glen ticket is $21. The VIP ticket is $17 and allows you to bypass the general admission line. An unlimited Shadow Hills pass is $22.
