Between the big family dinners, the holiday parties and leftovers it can be difficult to eat healthy during the holidays. Leah Frankel, MS, RD, the Los Gatos Jewish Community Center's registered dietitian, will discuss how to survive the holiday season while enjoying your favorite meals, without the weight gain 7-8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Nov. 8 at 14855 Oka Rd. Learn how to modify your favorite recipes, maintain your exercise routine and prevent overeating at family meals and parties. Admission is $45, and $30 for full center members. The Art Museum of Los Gatos presents a lecture with Linda Choy “Dreaming in America: Art as an Asian American Journey” 6 p.m. reception, 7 p.m. lecture Thursday, Nov. 8 at Art Museum of Los Gatos, 4 Tait Ave. Members, $10; non-members, $15. Details: 408-395-7375.

MONTALVO HOLIDAY HIGH TEAS

The Montalvo Service Group, which supports the Montalvo Arts Center by holding several fundraising events during the year, presents its Holiday High Teas parties, 2-4 p.m. Nov. 9-11, at Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Road, Saratoga. Tickets are $45 and $7 per person for tour of 100-year-old Villa. Reservations are required. Traditional English Tea menu includes finger sandwiches, pastries, tea, and champagne. Limited vendors for your holiday shopping experience will be available. Funds are used for the restoration and preservation of the historic villa, built in 1912 by U.S. Senator James Phelan, and the center's arts education programs.
