10 Questions for Time Out Clothing Owner Ginger Rowe

Los Gatos native Ginger Rowe, owner of , always had an eye for fashion—and a desire for clothes with personality. She’s followed her dream of owning her own business and bringing her fashion sense to the clothing store she’s operated for 17 years. Besides fabulous clothes, she offers exceptional customer service.

Los Gatos Patch: What did you dream of being as a kid?

Ginger Rowe: I always wanted to be an independent business woman. I had a love for fashion at an early age. My grandmother made all my clothes because I always wanted something different than what I found in the stores.

Patch: How does your personality play into your business?

Rowe: I like to treat all my customers like they are friends and guests in my home.

Patch: At what moment did you decide to open a business?

Rowe: When I was working for Adrienne's about 22 years ago, and saw a new “lifestyle” trend happening in the market.

Patch: What inspired you?

Rowe: Definitely Adrienne, she taught me that by owning your own business you control your destiny ... being able to raise a family and balance working on my terms.

Patch: Describe the biggest challenge of owning a business in the town of Los Gatos?

Rowe: Keeping up with all the changing trends in fashion, while still being unique and different from all the other stores. Another challenge is, being aware and involved with the community and its constant changes.

Patch: Describe the best thing about owning a business in the town of Los Gatos?

Rowe: Having grown up here, and owning Time Out Clothing for 17-plus years I love feeling connected with the community, and still seeing friends that I grew up with. There are several other merchants in town that all graduated from Los Gatos High School.

Patch: What is one thing you would never change about your business?

Rowe: The relationships and friendships that we have built with our customers. I don't feel like we are just selling clothes to people, we have built so many great friendships and relationships with our customers.

Patch: What is your business' greatest asset?

Rowe: Definitely my amazing staff. I have so many ladies that have worked with me forever. My manager has been with me for 15 years, and everyone that works here feels like a part of my family.

Patch: What is your favorite spot in town?

Rowe: During this time of the year the baseball fields. I love watching my two boys play baseball with all their friends.

Patch: What's one thing the community should know about you?

Rowe: Los Gatos is my hometown, and I love it. My husband and I moved back to town almost 20 years ago, and we are lucky to be able to raise our two sons here in this fantastic community. I believe that Los Gatos can grow as times change, and retain the charm that we are all drawn to.
