Longtime Los Gatan Jeanette Blacy created to bring the concept of quality designer collections and wonderful customer service to the town of Los Gatos. Blacy's, at 51 University Ave., is known for its great experience and large selection. Blacy has been in the jewelry business for more than 25 years guiding countless customers to the perfect diamond or jewelry piece for any occasion.

Los Gatos Patch: What did you dream of being as a kid?

Jeanette Blacy: An artist.

Patch: How does your personality play into your business?

Blacy: Strong yet creative. I listen to my clients' desires, making what they imagine a reality.

Patch: At what moment did you decide to open a business?

Blacy: When I realized that I could do a better job!

Patch: What inspired you?

Blacy: What is real or fake? Knowing that becoming a graduate gemologist would enable me to help many individuals identify what they have.

Patch: Describe the biggest challenge of owning a business in the town of Los Gatos?

Blacy: The parking.

Patch: Describe the best thing about owning a business in the town of Los Gatos?

Blacy: Just being downtown Los Gatos in a great location is wonderful. Also the opportunity to participate and contribute to the town's music, art and education community. Just being a part of the downtown mix is a joy.

Patch: What is one thing you would never change about your business?

Blacy: Our customer service.

Patch: What is your business' greatest asset?

Blacy: Our willingness to go above and beyond to satisfy a client's request.

Patch: What is your favorite spot in town?

Blacy: Old Town; it holds many fond memories for me.

Patch: What's one thing the community should know about you?

Blacy: I moved to Los Gatos in 1960. I am a native Los Gatan. I attended Blossom Hill, Fisher, and graduated from with my twin sister.
