Did You Watch The Solar Eclipse?

Reader photos reveal how widespread the excitement was Sunday over rare astronomical occurrence of moon crossing in front of sun.

Former Monte Sereno mayor Curtis Wright watched Sunday afternoon's eclipse in an interesting manner—through the canopy of the trees in his backyard.

He reported he could see lots of small crescents showing how the moon was crossing in front of the sun blocking some of its disk from view.

At home, my son made a pinhole camera, with the help of the Chabot Space Science Center, rolling over a rectangular piece of paper, covering one end with foil and the other with tracing paper.

He marveled as the spot of light changed shaped during the eclipse, from a simple round disk, to a crescent.
