New Millennium Foundation hosts auction to benefit LGHS

The New Millennium Foundation 13th Annual Benefit Auction will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at La Rinconada Country Club. This year’s theme is “Rally ‘Round the Wildcats” and proceeds will benefit the Los Gatos High School.

The New Millennium Foundation is a volunteer based, non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for Los Gatos High School. The Foundation was started in 2000 by Los Gatos community members who believed that a thriving high school is an important part of the community.

The event will feature live and silent auction items, a dinner and a few surprises, according to chairperson Dani Hinsche. Dani and her committee hope to raise more than $150,000. The proceeds will be distributed through an established grant request program to teachers and staff to fund academics, applied arts and athletics at the high school.

Hinsche and her committee are asking for help from the community to achieve the fundraising goal. LGHS parents, community members and local merchants are asked to contribute by volunteering to help, offering an auction item donation or making a cash donation.

When local businesses contribute, “it’s a win, win” said Hinsche. Businesses get exposure to new potential customers and the high school students get much needed funding for programs, books, technology and athletic equipment.
