LG School District Art Show Is Open With 2,000 Reasons To Go!

Celebrating forty years of bringing art education to the children of Los Gatos, the Art Docents will present more than 2,000 pieces of delightful artwork at Fisher Middle School through May 8.

Student masterpieces from all four elementary schools, Lexington, Louise Van Meter, Daves Avenue and Blossom Hill as well as RJ Fisher Middle School will be on display.

This special event is the culmination of a full years‘ worth of achievement in art in Los Gatos public schools. Works will include colorful drawings, paintings, sculptures and collages.

This year’s event is co-chaired by Art Docents Renee Hart, Heather Metz and Emily Seeman. Many Docents volunteer their time to label, mount and hang all the art for the show.

The Art Docents of Los Gatos is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and is funded by membership dues, small contributions from the schools’ parent-run home and school clubs, the cities of Los Gatos and Monte Sereno, a grant from the Los Gatos Education Foundation and private contributions.

Docents spend more than 1,640 volunteer hours in the classrooms each year feeding the need for creative expression and a love of art to more than 3,000 children.

Art education in the classrooms would be extremely limited if not for the contributions of this group of individuals.

Attend the Los Gatos Union School District Annual Art Show and help celebrate forty years of service to our community.
