The participating schools include Louise Van Meter, Lexington, Daves Avenue and Blossom Hill Elementary schools and R.J. Fisher Middle School. Students from all of these schools will visit the exhibit this week during the day.

The colorful, vibrant exhibit displays a variety of media including paintings, drawings and three-dimensional art.

Student artwork was created in collaboration with the local Art Docents of Los Gatos and with LGUSD art teacher Kelly Martin, according to co-chairperson Joan Corbett.

The event is made possible thanks to co-chairpersons Lisa Marselli and Corbett as well as many hard-working Art Docents of Los Gatos. Art Docents are available during viewing hours to answer questions about the art and the exhibit.

The Art Docents of Los Gatos is a volunteer organization whose objective is to foster creativity and a love of art in students. They work with children at all area schools with ongoing programs in art history and hands-on projects.

The show is open to the public during the following hours:

  • Noon-4 p.m., Wednesday, May 8
  • 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 9

A new event this year at the art show is the open house and family art activity 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at the Fisher multipurpose room.

The family art activity will consist of a collaborative grid mural project. Students, parents and all attendees are invited to participate. The completed artwork will be on display in the LGUSD office when completed.
