Los Gatos High School Girls in South Bay Teen Idol Finals

Serena Koo and Dana Cullinane will perform 7-10 p.m., March 31 at the Jewish Community Center for a chance to win $2,500 scholarship and $500 for their school.

students Dana Cullinane and Serena Koo are among 10 finalists in the first South Bay Teen Idol competition which takes place the evening of March 31 at the 14855 Oka Rd.

The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship and $500 for their school during the competition, which is similar to the popular Fox TV show American Idol and will take place 7-10 p.m.

In addition to group and individual performances by the finalists, the up-and-coming teen band Y I Yell from Los Angeles will be performing.

General admission is $25 for adults and $15 for children and students. Reserved seating is $40 and VIP tickets with reserved seating and dessert after-party are $75. To purchase tickets, please click here.

The finalists were among more than 50 students who participated in tryouts during semifinals held Feb. 9.

“South Bay Teen Idol is an all-star collective of the greatest talent this side of the Bay. I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Justin Germond, a recruiter from America’s Got Talent, who was present during the semifinals.
