The musical is the third and final production staged by LGYT in its fourth successful year. With a Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat-esque score that everyone will enjoy, Honk Jr. will delight audiences young and old alike. It was awarded the British equivalent of the Tony Award, an Olivier Award, for best new musical in 2000.
Complete with sets, costumes, makeup, choreography, and a full cast of animals, Honk! Jr. features two casts, each comprised of 25 young actors from Los Gatos and surrounding communities.
“It's really great that LGYT is reaching a larger circle of kids,” says director Heather Stokes.
Another plus? Smaller casts make for a more intimate theatre-going experience, according to Stokes. “We noted during a recent dress rehearsal how nice it is that the stage isn't crammed with kids.”
Performances will take place 7 p.m., Thursday, July 26; 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., Friday, July 27; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, July 28; and 2 p.m., Sunday, July 29. Purchase tickets by clicking here.
