Catch an Oscar-Nominated Movie Near Los Gatos

The Academy Awards are this Sunday. Have you seen all nine Best Picture nominees? Check out this cool new tool for quickly finding movie listing times and nearby theaters in one click!

Film fans needing to catch up on the Academy Award-nominated movies before Oscar Sunday are in luck—several of the Best Picture nominees are still playing near Los Gatos.

Although the Los Gatos Cinema is closed on North Santa Cruz Avenue, town residents can try to catch these flicks at AMC Saratoga 14, at 700 El Paseo de Saratoga, in San Jose; Century 24 Cinema, 741 Winchester Blvd. in San Jose; or CineLux Plaza Theatre, 2501 Winchester Blvd. in Campbell.

There are nine films contending for the Academy's top honor at the 85th Oscars.

Buoyed by its Golden Globe win, "Argo" considered the front-runner for Best Picture by many Hollywood watchers. "Lincoln" and "Zero Dark Thirty" are also in the mix.

The Academy Awards air this Sunday at 4 p.m. Pacific on ABC.

Movie buffs can download the free Oscars App. The app promises a "backstage pass" on Oscar Sunday, including the ability to control which awards show camera angles the user views and tips on how to throw a great Oscar-viewing party. One bar manager came up with five drinks inspired by Oscar nominees.

Harris back then said the department's records unit need time to research just how many of these sex crimes had been reported to police. I'll check with the district.
