This week, Los Gatos Patch reader Sandy Vaurs asked and commented: "I don't know if you have seen the improvements on LG Blvd, but some really big trees have been planted in the median. They will really make the street look spiffy. I am surprised that trees that big can be transplanted. There are other trees the same size which were already located in the median and these new ones look very good. They have not even finished filling in the holes dug for the new trees, they are that new. I thought that this would make a good article."

Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Director Todd Capurso said the trees and other landscaping being planted on the Los Gatos Boulevard median island are a requirement of the development on the former Honda auto dealership site, where 22 new single-family residences are being built.

The median and all associated plantings and irrigation are being installed by the developer, Robson Homes, at no cost to the town, between Roberts Road and Mitchell Avenue, Capurso said.

The improvements are located south of Blossom Hill Road and consist of Redwood trees, he added. "They [Robson Homes] built the median .. there wansn't a median there and they've now landscaped it."

The homes are still under construction, he said.
