Where's This in Los Gatos?

This is the second in a new series in Los Gatos Patch, a fun guessing game. A mystery photo will be posted each week showing something in plain sight, but closeup or from an unusual perspective. Readers will try to identify the object and its location

Look up, look down, look close, look all around. Turn your head this way and that. This is an exercize in seeing outside the box. Expand the scope of your perceptions. Art is all around you in the things you see in everyday life.

This is a fun feature, so wild and humorous responses are encouraged. Next week the answer will be revealed.

About this column: Where's This? will appear on weekends on Los Gatos Patch. We'll ask you to identify something in a photo. Prizes will be given to the first person to correctly identify the item and location of whatever is pictured in the image. Identifications that are clear enough to enable other readers to find the object are best. All photos will be of something that is visible to the general public. We're playful, not tricksters.

Is it a close up of one of the Los Gatos lion sculptures at the Los Gatos shopping center across the street from Walgreens?

Yes! You got it, Helene! Sheila will contact you regarding your prize. I need to find some more difficult subjects. Perhaps you and Mary can try your skill on Where's This in Saratoga? That has gone for a week without a single guess, in spite of several strong hints. Ed talked about the installation in his blog on Los Gatos Art Bridge: http://lgartbridge.wordpress.com/2012/03/08/an-new-instant-los-gatos-landmark/ Sheila and Jeanne reported it on Los Gatos Patch: http://losgatos.patch.com/articles/los-gatotes-are-here The sculptor Tony Lynott has a web site: www.lynott.com/ I found a very informative article about the original cats here: http://www.metroactive.com/metro/10.17.07/coverstory-0742.html

At first I thought it was a giant tooth, but the pictures showing the sculptures from a normal distance sort of gave it away!
