Severe Thunderstorms and Hail May Be Headed to Santa Clara County

Stay safe, but grab those cameras and share some weather photos with us!

If last night's sudden downpour was a bit of a shock, the National Weather Service wants you to know ... you ain't seen nothing yet.

As of 4:47 p.m., the weather service announced a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for both Santa Clara County and Santa Cruz County. According to the weather service, there is a "20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11:00 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and heavy rain."

The announcement also stated that there will be damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. The store is located near the Lexington Hills or near Los Gatos, it said, and is moving northwest at 30 mph.

Other locations included in this warning include Saratoga and Rancho Rinconada.

The weather service also said that there may be hail tonight, up to 1 inch in diameter.

So stay safe, make sure that you move your belongings you don't want to get soaked to another place and bust out those camera phones and snap a few pics and share!

It's starting here! We went to watch the first few drop fall on our front side walk. My 3 1/2 year old was SO excited to see the rain! We shared our video above :)
