Reader's Photos: Monte Sereno Community BBQ

About 200 people attend annual event at Vasona Park in Los Gatos.

Los Gatos photographer Natalie Ladd shared with us these awesome photos she took of the City of Monte Sereno "Meet and Greet" barbecue last Saturday morning at Vasona Park in Los Gatos.

About 200 people attended the event, which included a nature walk at 10 a.m. followed by Youth Science Institute family activities and the barbecue lunch from noon until 1:30 p.m.

The Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Department also had representatives at the picnic with the presence from its K9 unit made up of officer John Alldredge and police dog Berko and the swat team answering questions.

The Santa Clara County Fire Department also had an engine at the park and the Santa Clara County Bookmobile made an appearance.

Participants also walked away with Monte Sereno reusable canvas bags, water bottles, frisbees and T-shirts and a representative from the private social neighborhood online group Nextdoor.com was on hand to answer questions about its service.

The YSI also had live animals for children to pet and rocket launching as well as arts and crafts for everyone.
