Reader's Photo: Carpenters Protest Outside Los Gatos Project

South Bay Construction company project in town attracts workers disgruntled over labor dispute.

Wondering what those workers from a carpenters' union are protesting about on Winchester Boulevard in front of the Los Gatos Medical project?

Los Gatos Patch reader Barbara Holden wondered, too, and emailed us a photo she took of them Wednesday, Jan. 8 at around noon on Winchester Boulevard, opposite of Aldo's Ristorante.

In the photo, a protester stands next to an inflatable vertical sign that has a skeleton head on top. Next to the worker is a sign that reads, "Community Beware. South Bay Construction Hurts Works, Hurts Families. Labor Dispute."

Campbell-based South Bay Construction officials said this morning the workers aren't necessarily protesting the Los Gatos Medical project, but the company in general.

They declined to elaborate on what the labor dispute is about.
