Los Gatos Patch reader George Royer complains that the low stone divider at the left turn into the Cornerstone Shopping Center, 15992 Los Gatos Blvd., is hazardous to drivers.
He says the divider, at the corner of Los Gatos Boulevard and Blossom Hill Road, is not well marked, has no reflective paint, no sign and is difficult to see.
"On rainy nights you can't see it at all," he wrote Los Gatos Patch while recommending it for this column. "If you are expecting to turn left on Blossom Hill Road, the Cornerstone left turn looks like the one to take, then bang you hit the divider!"
Royer, who lives at The Terraces of Los Gatos on Blossom Hill Road, said others have hit the divider, too, such as his daughter who struck it while driving with husband in their van on a rainy night Jan. 15. "Our airbags deployed breaking the windshield and hurting [husband] Gerhard's hands and injuring my right arm," Royer's daughter wrote.
"The car horn was stuck blaring and the van was filled with smoke. We had to get out in the center of the street with Richard in the rain and wait for a tow truck and police officer," she added.
His daughter's tow truck driver said he had seen multiple accidents there, according to Royer and a woman from Los Gatos who stopped to help them said that she had also seen at least one accident there previously.
