Olympian & World Champ Teach Swimming at 2 Clinics This Weekend in Los Gatos

Olympian Christine Magnuson and World Champion Robert Margalis are coming to Los Gatos on Saturday and Sunday -- May 3 and 4 -- for two educational and fun-filled swim clinics.  

Local swimmers will learn essentials of fast, smart swimming from the champs on the Fitter and Faster Swim Tour at the clinics held at Los Gatos High School Community Aquatics Center 20 High School St.

Hours on May 3 are 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.m and on May 4 11 a..m. to 3 p.m.  

Magnuson is an Olympic silver medalist in the 100 butterfly and is also one of the world’s fastest sprint freestylers.  She is an excellent clinician and will work with the participants on the important fundamentals that even Olympians practice all the time. 

Margalis is one of the best all around swimmers in the USA for many years as a top performer in the 200 and 400 IM.  He has been a national champion and Olympic Trials finalist.  

He currently provides private coaching to a national age group record holder.  His extensive knowledge of all strokes and ability to communicate lessons he has learned from swimming make him an excellent teacher.

Participants will:

• Watch Christine and Robert swim at full speed and demonstrate their near-flawless stroke
• Practice drills and improve technique in the water
• Ask questions during a Q&A open to children and parents
• Take photos with Christine and Robert and get autographs
