It sure would be nice to have the train to Santa Cruz again. Federal money was given to Santa Cruz to update but they voted to spend it on the train to nowhere Aptos upgrade a park bench and clean up I heard. Something to investigate for sure.

I feel the last comment was unnecessary. I am the product of two parents with excellent educations who taught and designed English curriculum and tests. My punctuation and grammar was always a sore point. I have since grown up to understand how many people have difficulty with spelling, grammar and punctuation either because of brain glitches which do not affect their intelligence or because they simply were not taught. I used to work in a very rich community with many retired people who had held very important positions in their working lives. So many of them had to tell me quietly that they had never learned to read. They had been intelligent enough to make it through school and employment hiding it, and were very good at dictating to secretaries or wives. My parents taught for eight years in a very rural native community (now known internationally) which no one remained teaching at for more than three months, prior. The people there kept asking my Mum why no one had taught them the simple English grammar my Mum taught them and they wanted to know if no one thought they could learn it. Most likely, the teachers prior had not cared, bothered, or even known themselves. The native grandparents who were taught by missionaries had beautiful handwriting and English. I also know an English speaker who has taught English conversation for years in Japan, and benefitted many people as a very popular teacher.
