LOS GATOS UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT 39TH ANNUAL ART SHOW

The free 39th annual Los Gatos Union School District Art Show is underway at the Raymond J. Fisher Middle School multipurpose room, 19195 Fisher Ave., 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., Thursday May 9. The show exhibits more than 2,000 pieces of art from students in the LGUSD. Participating schools include Louise Van Meter, Lexington, Daves Avenue and Blossom Hill Elementary schools and R.J. 2ND FRIDAYS VARIETY HAPPY HOUR

Los Gatos Saratoga Recreation's 55-Plus Program presents Second Fridays Variety Hour 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center, 208 E. Main St. Featuring "Sizzling Seniors." Recommended donation: $5. Everyone is welcome. Free parking and light refreshments and door prizes. Details: 408-354-1514.

JENI & BILLY AT THE WOODSHED

Duo from East Nashville, TN performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 at The Woodshed at Keith Holland Guitars, 16905 Roberts Rd. Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door. Couple musicians present an evening of song and story taking the audience into their world of mountain folk music. Details: 408-395-0767.

KATHY & CAROL AT THE WOODSHED

Kathy and Carol, a 1960s folk-era duo performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11,  at The Woodshed at Keith Holland Guitars, 16905 Roberts Rd. Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door. Carol McComb made her recording debut for Elektra Records with Kathy and Carol, her duo with Kathy Larisch. Concert will include many of the songs from their famed album 1965 Elektra, a tribute to traditional British Isles and American folk ballads. Details: 408-395-0767.

EVOLUTION OF GREEN: ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM IN SANTA CLARA VALLEY

Evolution of Green is an exhibit sharing the stories of those individuals and groups whose experiences have shaped the evolving narrative of the valley's environmental story for the past 50 years 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday and Friday and noon-4 p.m. Wednesday and Sunday through Sept. 1 at the History Museum of Los Gatos, 75 Church St. Details: 408-354-2646.
