Have you seen the padlocks on the downtown Los Gatos Main Street Bridge and wondered what they represented?
Well ... here's the answer ... Los Gatos resident Tim and Carolyn Du Clos initiated them on Aug. 6, 2012 for their 30th wedding anniversary and since then, several of their friends have added locks and now nine are in place.
"This is an event hundreds of years old," says Du Clos about the locks.
The love birds first saw hundreds of locks on a bridge in Paris. They learned Lovers or friends place an engraved lock to commemorate a special event, or anniversary.
They then got the idea to start the tradition in Los Gatos to announce their pearl wedding anniversary.
Now, through word-of-mouth, the locks have grown to 11.
