Los Gatos Goes Back to School

Monday proves exciting for the nearly 5,000 students in most town schools that started the new school year.

Excitement was felt all around Los Gatos Monday morning when nearly 5,000 students returned to their classrooms for the first day of the 2011-12 school year.

At, the bell rang at 8:10 a.m. sharp. The school is part of the 3,000-plus student which consists of four elementary schools and one middle school. 

It was a busy campus with lots of nervous parents and students looking for their classrooms and new teachers.

Many students showcased their new school supplies, new clothes, new shoes, new backpacks. Everyone looked ready and polished.

At about 1,800 students began their school day at 8 a.m. The campus is part of the , which has a total enrollment of about 3,200 students.
