Los Gatos Faith Groups to Host Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Religious observance will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at St. Mary's Church.

Los Gatos faith groups are inviting the public to participate in their annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception Church, 219 Bean Ave.

The observance is sponsored by the Los Gatos Interfaith Clergy Association.

The group alternates the service's location every year among the different denominations in town. In 2011, it was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Rose Avenue.

Organizer Carol Thornton, director of pastoral care, social justice and community ministry for St. Mary's, said worshippers will come together in a spirit of gratitude.

There will be a monetary collection in support of Habit for Humanity All Faiths House and a food collection for Los Gatos St. Luke's Episcopal Church's pantry.

Requested food donations include canned or packaged food in individual servings for the homeless such as chili, hearty soup, pasta, creamy peanut butter, tuna, crackers, cookies, fruit or pudding cups and juice.

Details: cthornton@stmaryslg.org, or 408-354-4061, ext. 121.
