The Friends of the Los Gatos Library are sponsoring a teen writers workshop 10:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m., Saturday, April 14, at the Los Gatos Recreation Center, 208 E. Main St., led by fiction writer C. The are asking area students: What matters? The 2012 High School Art Exhibition is a venue for young artists to visually communicate their answers. Creative youth will gain real-world experience at presenting artwork in a competitive environment. Art works are juried prior to the exhibition. Accepted works are framed by the artists. Artists participate in installation at the Los Gatos Art Museum. A framing demonstration, panel discussion, Opening and Awards Receptions, and silent auction will honor the winners. The Museums of Los Gatos will award a $5,000 grand prize and a total of $10,000 in awards. Deadline for submissions
is midnight, April 25. The exhibit is open Santa Clara County high school students (public, private or home school) in grades 9-12. Submissions must be sent to highschool@museumsoflosgatos.
Los Gatos Saratoga Recreation is presenting a free health resource fair 1-4 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at the 208 E. Main St. The fair caters to residents older than 55 years of age and will cover several topics covered by participating agencies and vendors who will set up tables and booths to serve participants.
