Community Corner

Bandstand Boogie in Oak Meadow Park

Free all-day music event raises funds for the Los Gatos Youth Sports Park Project.

The Los Gatos Community Foundation is hosting their first free community music event in Oak Meadow Park at the site of the historic Lyndon Bandstand right now, with two KFOX Radio Last Band Standing Contest winners due to perform before the event wraps up at 10 p.m.

OTR, a classic rock/R&B band and KFOX Radio Last Band Standing Contest winners in 2009 and The Houserockers, a ten-member rock & soul band and 2010 Last Band Standing winners, are headlining the event this evening designed to raise funds for the new Los Gatos Youth Sports Park Snack Shack.

“We knew that the upcoming sports park needed a snack shack,” said Mary Tomasi-Dubois, fundraising chair person and LGCF Board Member. “And because we are community foundation – community oriented – we said 50 percent of our funds that we raise today are going to be dedicated to that snack shack.”
