Family Hopes to Fit Mom with Dentures
A South Bay woman is trying to raise enough money to get dentures for her 60-year-old mother who is losing her teeth to gum disease.
San Jose resident Rene Lorraine Schilling is hoping to see her mother Lois smile once again. Her mom has faced numerous medical challenges over the years including diabetes and dental issues. She now has severe gum disease and is in need of dentures.
According to a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign page set up by Schilling, donations are at about $3,000 of the $7,500 goal needed to outfit Lois with dentures.
The original goal was $10,000, but pledges by two dentists to donate their services helped bring the goal lower and, hopefully more attainable.

“Thanks to the generosity of a couple of dentists who learned about this campaign and are offering to donate some of their services, we are able to cut the goal amount down from $10,000 to $7500! Please continue to share this story. We appreciate every share and every dollar,” Schilling wrote.
