Coco Comes Home

After being lost for nine days, owner reports dog finds her way home.

After being gone for more than nine days, Coco came home on Sunday to a happy owner.

The 8-month-old female Rottweiler, who lives close to Winchester and Lark avenues, was reported missing May 21 by her owner.

Several handles on Twitter were alerting the tweet-o-sphere of her loss, and Los Gatos Patch was ready to help spread the word about the search when her owner announced that the dog had showed up at his doorstep Sunday.

Coco's owner, who identified himself as Mike, said Coco escaped when the gate to his home next to the Santa Clara County fire station was accidentally left open.

Mike said the dog probably wandered aimlessly around the parking lot by University Avenue, where several offices are located.

"I'm so happy," he said. "She's OK. She just looked a little shook up, but she's home now."
