This is on Ralston in front of Mr. Pickles/ US Bank (was Bayview Federal Savings). I remember them trucking snow in and having a party of some sort in the 90's. I can't believe they shut Ralston down!

Carolyn's correct about the dates above. Based on the fashions in the photo I'm taking a guess that this was 1976, surely not '62 (although SF Giants did go to the WS later that year) Also looks like it could be the small shopping center @ Ralston and ECR-ish. NW corner ... or ...

Denise haha, none of us knew what hit us or what to do. My dad was arriving home from work in san mateo around 630-7am and woke us all up. He then went next door to our brand new neighbors whom we hadnt even met. My dad knocked on their door and said "It's snowing". The man looked at my dad and said "huh are you serious....we just arrived from where we lived for 20 years ... Minnesota".... Too funny.

Yes Denise, you are correct, and Phillip, you're correct, it is near the corner of Ralston an ECR---this was back during the "Grade Separation" circa 1997 when the intersection was shut down for over a year to make room for the elevated Caltrain tracks we have today and to lower Ralston Ave. The City of Belmont and the Chamber of Commerce threw a few events to attract folks to the business district down there during the closure. The snow was trucked in for the afternoon for kids to play in. Unfortunately it turned out to be one of those really warm and sunny winter days and the snow didn't last long, but the kids had a good time nonetheless.
