Congratulations to the Los Gatos Wildcats on their second straight football win Friday evening!

1. Congratulations to the Los Gatos Wildcats on their second straight football victory Friday evening against Oak Grove by a 20-13 score. Los Gatos tailback Garret Zeiter gave an outstanding performance with three touchdowns in 32 carries. The team, under the direction of Coach Butch Cattolico, played the first game of the season against Menlo-Atherton on Sept. 10 winning by a 27-14 score. Go Wildcats!

2.  55-Plus Program will have a bird-watching excursion to Neary Lagoon and Park near downtown Santa Cruz today, Monday, Sept. 19, at 10:15 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their binoculars and are invited to carpool from the Loma Prieta Community Center at 9:30 a.m. Meet at the park entrance at 10:15 a.m. to gather for the walk. Steve Gerow from the Santa Cruz Bird Watchers will be the guide as the group explores the inner-city area. Weather permitting, the group will have a picnic lunch in the nearby Neary Park. 3. The final numbers are in from the The fundraising event that helps the nonprofit CASSY—Counseling and Support Services for Youth—at  made more than $40,000. CASSY provides students with crisis intervention, ongoing counseling and proactive mental health education at no charge. That includes sponsorships, donations and participants, according to event organizer Polly Naber. The event also had more than 500 participants, 37 sponsors and 60 volunteers. The was the event's main sponsor. The event also had ride support from the and Sunnyvale Police Department. "What a wonderful day in memory of our daughter Jill. We thank the community for its outreach and support to keep CASSY at Los Gatos High School," Naber said.

5. The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Community Garage Sale takes place Oct. 1. On Sunday, Oct. 2, the Town of Los Gatos and will hold its annual Second Chance Day Donation Drive at the Adult Recreation Center, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., to encourage sellers to give away unsold items for local shelters and nonprofit organizations.
