5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 31

Don't miss Christine Kennedy's free workout at 7 a.m., Wednesday.

1. The Los Gatos Planning Commission will meet tonight, 7 p.m., at Town Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St. There's only one item on the agenda and it's the rezoning of more than 20 acres of land at Albright Way and Winchester Boulevard to possibly allow Netflix to expand.

2. Take your kids 8 years old and over to Lego Club 6-7 p.m. every Tuesday at the , 110 E. Main St. It's a great weekly opportunity for kids to be creative and to make new friends. The library provides the Legos. Details: 408-354-6893. 

3. Make sure to register for a free Personal Emergency Preparedness class taught by experts 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, June 4, at the Jewish Community Center, Levy Family Campus/Yavneh Day School, 14855 Oka Rd. Details: stephanie.morrison@cnt.sccgov.org

4. Pan to get up early tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1, for a run with Los Gatos resident Christine Kennedy, first-place winner of the Boston Marathon in 2009, 2010 and 2011 in the 50+ age division and co-owner of the store. Christine will lead this free beginners running/walking workout at 7 a.m. every Wednesday. The group will meet in front of the store at 55 W. Main St. in Los Gatos—rain, hail or shine—for the workout on Los Gatos Creek Trail. Details: 408-354-7365.

5. Mark your calendar today for this fun activity tomorrow for moms with young children. Toddler Storytime is for children ages 2-3 years old at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday at the Los Gatos Public Library, 110 E. Main St.  Activities include story-reading, music, and fingerplays. Although the Children's Librarian leads, you can interact with your child as well. This is a free program and is a great place to meet other parents. The library asks that you keep large items in your car, including strollers. Details: 408-354-6893.
