Pease join our town in honoring our nation's fallen soldiers 10 a.m.-noon, Monday, May 30, at the Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Rd., for a Memorial Day Service to pay tribute to our veterans and those who served our nation in all capacities and their family members. 3.  The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department and Community Against Substance Abuse is having a prescription drug disposal event 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, June 4, at 41 Miles Ave. The public is encouraged to drive-thru and drop off unused and expired prescription drugs to safely dispose. In 2009, 20 percent of U.S. high school students had taken a prescription drug without a doctor's prescription. Teens also misuse over-the-counter medications. Details: 714-299-6457.

Don't miss today's opening of "In the Abstract," noon-4 p.m., Wednesdays-Sundays, at the Art Museum of Los Gatos, 4 Tait Ave. The exhibit features works by abstract artists Ewa Gavriellov (prints), Paula Schales (sculpture) and Neal Boor (paintings). 5. The Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos is inviting the public to attend its annual Turnaround Scholarship ceremony 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m., today, May 26, at the Los Gatos Lodge, 50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Rd.
