5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 23

Don't miss St. Mary's showing of the film 'Tapped' tonight in the Hoffman Center.

1. Blossom Hill Elementary Home and School Club is asking the public to join its efforts to volunteer today in the Blossom Hill Library to set up (unpacking merchandise and organizing book displays) for its Scholastic Book Fair tomorrow, May 24, to help children, parents and teachers find books or help with the cash registers and customer checkout. 2. In conjunction with this educational event, will show the film "Tapped," a documentary on the bottled water industry, tonight, Monday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in Hofmann Center. All are welcome. Prior to the screening, several students will share their reflections on how they view water after participating in the "Walk for Water" event last Friday. Details: 408-354-3944.

3. Tomorrow is Tuesday, so plan to get up early so you won't be late! Join Los Gatos resident Brad Armstrong, co-owner of the Willow Glen store, at 6:15 a.m. every Tuesday for a free track workout that includes combinations of 400- and 800-meter repeats and one-mile distances. 4. Put this on your calendar today so you don't miss it tomorrow. Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit? Well, the has an incredible knitting group, which meets 4-5 p.m., Tuesdays, for children ages 7 and above. Parents must accompany the children and they can learn the craft themselves. 5. Moms with younger children can take advantage of the Los Gatos Library's storytime program. Bouncing Babies is held 11:30 a.m., every Monday for moms with infants 0-12 months old. The interactive sessions are planned and led by professional librarians. Storytimes focus on pre-literacy skills as well as making children feel comfortable in the library. The half-hour playtime, which follows each storytime program, allows children and grown-ups to socialize and explore the children’s room. Details: 408-354-6891.
