5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 21

1. Apply today for vacancies the town has on theLos Gatos Planning Commission and the Los Gatos General Plan Committee. The deadline to apply is July 22, 2011. Applications can be submitted online or in person at the Town Clerk Department, 110 E. Main St. Candidates will be interviewed by the Los Gatos Town Council. Details: 408-354-6834.  

2. Make plans today to join the Friends of the Los Gatos Library this afternoon, June 21, 5-8 p.m., for a fun-filled evening preview of the  115 No. Santa Cruz Ave. Event will benefit the organization's Once in a Generation campaign for the new Los Gatos Public Library. Suggested donation is $20. 4. Plan to get up early so you won't be late! Join Los Gatos resident Brad Armstrong, co-owner of the Willow Glen Athletic Performance store, at 6:15 a.m. every Tuesday for a free track workout that includes combinations of 400- and 800-meter repeats and one-mile distances. 5. Cool off tomorrow Wednesday, June 22, by attending the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center family Float Night and Barbecue, 5-8 p.m., 14855 Oka Road.
