Don't miss tonight's Friends of the Los Gatos Library fundraiser at Los Gatos Cinema.

1. Don't miss the family film "Cars 2" Fun Night Out at the Los Gatos Cinema, 41 No. Santa Cruz Ave., 5:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 7, sponsored by Los Gatos Luxury Cars, to benefit the Friends of Los Gatos Library fundraising campaign for the new library. Tickets are $20 and include movie, popcorn and beverage. 2. Make plans today to attend the  "Big Truck Day" event at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, in the library parking lot, 110 E. Main St. Ever wonder about all of those town big trucks you see driving around? Well, this is your chance to see them up close. You'll be able to climb aboard the vehicles, meet the drivers and learn about the services they offer through their work with the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department, the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department and the Santa Clara County Fire Department. 3. Plan to get up early tomorrow so you won't be late! Join Los Gatos resident Brad Armstrong, co-owner of the Willow Glen Athletic Performance store, for a free hilly trail run at 6:30 a.m. every Friday. 4. Apply today for vacancies the town has on the Los Gatos Planning Commission and the Los Gatos General Plan Committee. The deadline to apply is July 22, 2011. Applications can be submitted online or in person at the Town Clerk Department, 110 E. Main St. Candidates will be interviewed by the Los Gatos Town Council. Details: 408-354-6834.

5. Give the gift of life. The American Red Cross has a public blood drive 9 a.m.– 2 p.m., Friday, July 8, at The Kid’s Church, 1799 Winchester Blvd., in Campbell. Blood is needed for accident and trauma victims, premature babies and patients undergoing treatment for cancer and many other life-threatening diseases. One donation may help save the lives of up to three people. Details: 1-800-RED-CROSS.
