5 Things You Need to Know Today, July 26

Attend Los Gatos Music & Arts gala fundraiser tonight at La Estancia Estate and support local educational and cultural programs.

1. You can still get your tickets for the nonprofit Los Gatos Music & Arts' gala fundraiser "Moonlight Over Memphis" 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 26 at La Estancia Estate, 18000 Overlook Road, featuring Jazz artist Barbara Morrison. The event will also feature food and fine wine and your tax-deductible tickets benefit Los Gatos Music & Arts, town educational and cultural programs and Jazz on the Plazz. Details: Jackie at 354-2297.

2. LGS Recreation's 55-Plus Program is presenting a class tonight at 6 p.m., at the Los Gatos Recreation Center, 123 E. Main St., about elder law issues such as care, legal and financial concerns of elders. Other topics include estate planning, trust administration, probate, long-term care, veteran’s benefits and MediCal benefits, conservatorships, special needs trusts and use of professional fiduciaries. 4. Make plans to attend the family film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 at the , 41 No. Santa Cruz Ave., 5:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 28, to benefit the Friends of Los Gatos Library fundraising campaign for the new library. Tickets are $20 and include movie, popcorn and beverage. 5. Want your youngsters to learn more about animals? Kids of all ages are invited to visit different continents and hear from the special animals that live there. Australian kangaroo and African lion star in the story of the Lion and the Mouse. Penguin visits from Antarctica, Orangutan from Asia, and more animal characters from lands far and wide. The Los Gatos Public Library will be presenting a world animal puppet show at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 28, in the Los Gatos Town Council Chambers, 110 E.
