5 Things You Need to Know Today, July 24

We recommend you support the Bahram Saghari fundraiser and the Los Gatos Music & Arts gala.

1. A fundraiser is being organized on behalf of Los Gatos bicyclist who was critically injured May 25 at the intersection of Wheeler Avenue and Los Gatos Boulevard. Tickets to the 5 p.m., Monday, July 25 event at , 565 University Ave., are $75 per person. $30 of each ticket will go the Saghari family to help pay for Bahram's medical expenses. Admission includes bocce ball, buffet dinner and raffle prizes. The public is encouraged to purchase tickets by midnight July 24 to give Campo di Bocce an estimate of how many people will be attending the fundraiser. Details: Tim DuClos, 408-497-9052.

3. The Los Gatos Shakespeare Festival continues its second weekend performance at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Oak Meadow Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd. The Festival Theatre Ensemble will perform the non-Shakespearean Charley's Aunt comedy, the Tragedy of Macbeth and Twelfth Night. Performances end at around 9:30 p.m., so the public is asked to take blankets or jackets to stay warm and be comfortable. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and youth under 17 years of age. Details: 408-996-0635 or fteshakes@gmail.com.

4. Enjoy the sixth free Music in the Park summer outdoor concert, 5-7 p.m., Sunday, July 24, Los Gatos Civic Center Lawn, 110 E. Main St. The show is part of the popular MIP series, a fixture of the Los Gatos summer scene. The act this Sunday is Take 2—The Party Band. Music in the Park, which started more than two decades ago, is produced through a partnership between the Town and Los Gatos Music & Arts, best known for its successful Jazz on the Plazz concert series. 5. Get your tickets for the nonprofit Los Gatos Music & Arts' gala fundraiser "Moonlight Over Memphis" 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 26 at La Estancia Estate, 18000 Overlook Road, featuring Jazz artist Barbara Morrison. The event will also feature food and fine wine and your tax-deductible tickets benefit Los Gatos Music & Arts, town educational and cultural programs and Jazz on the Plazz. Details: Jackie at 354-2297.
