Wetonka Tribe No. 208, Improved Order of Redmen organization, was one of the many fraternal groups popular in the area in the early part of the 20th century.
This photo (circa 1912) was taken against the wall of the stone dwelling at 15 University Ave. Oddly enough, the organization still exists today and claims to be “America’s Oldest Fraternal Organization.”
The silver cup in the picture was awarded by the Peninsular Railway company to the tribe for the most attractive float in the Flag Day parade.
