why are BART "police" officers entering a home off of BART property with guns drawn to chase after a stolen laptop? why does BART have not only its own "police" officers but also detectives? do these officers ever receive ANY training for tactical operations? most large police depts have special teams for this type of operation...people who are TRAINED to do it. good thing no child or innocent person was in the line of fire or they would be dead. I have no idea why BART would not simply call the sheriff and let trained professionals take care of this. after Fruitvale and now this, its clear the BART force should be scrapped and replaced with something far more limited. sorry, the public has a direct interest in who we allow to wear a uniform and carry loaded weapons, and BART's "police" dept does not meet minimal standards. I am certain most citizens would be shocked to know that BART police can enter their property with guns drawn.
