ROADSIDE LITTER

In 2009, 51 billion pieces of litter found the road instead of the garbage can. Over 17% of roadside litter comes from unsecured or uncovered items blown off a truck or an auto. Unsightly and environmentally unfriendly, roadside litter blows and travels into waterways, into environmentally sensitive areas, and sometimes even gets carried away by animals. The litter mentioned here is only along the roadside, not litter in general. The amount of garbage in other public areas is staggering. Again, it is not just a problem of aesthetics, but an environmental problem.

Regular highway drivers have certainly seen the larger items along the roadside. Mattresses, chairs, large and small appliances, construction debris, tires and parts of tires--most drivers have seen these items. Imagine driving behind someone when that mattress or chair flies out of the bed of a pickup… It can be a disaster—destructive if not fatal.

Junk King junk haulers and recyclers cover their loads.  The trucks are fitted with an automatic cover. They recycle or donate 60% of the items they haul. The workers on the Junk King trucks can’t get lazy and decide they don’t care what blows where. The vehicles they use are the largest in the junk hauling business at 18 cubic yards. The company was founded to be green and all the franchises are on board with this concept. You can be sure that those strange items found on the roadside did not come off a Junk King vehicle. We are not going to endanger you or the environment. 1-888-888-5865.
