In celebration of this year's Hanukkah and Thanksgiving convergence, the Women's Philanthropy Division of the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley decided to "spice" things up a bit.
On Thursday evening, November 7, over 120 women gathered to watch a live cooking demonstration with Chef Rachel Wilson on "infusing" Hanukkah with Thanksgiving. Included in the evening was a delicious spread of food, a private viewing of a Julie Cavanaugh's Design Matters and, of course, an important piece of social action. Each woman was encouraged to bring a can of food as a part of the admission, but what came next went above and beyond- 235 pounds of food were donated! The food was delivered on Friday morning to Second Harvest Food Bank.
