Thanksgivukkah celebration is something to be thankful for

In celebration of this year's Hanukkah and Thanksgiving convergence, the Women's Philanthropy Division of the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley decided to "spice" things up a bit.

On Thursday evening, November 7, over 120 women gathered to watch a live cooking demonstration with Chef Rachel Wilson on "infusing" Hanukkah with Thanksgiving. Included in the evening was a delicious spread of food, a private viewing of a Julie Cavanaugh's Design Matters and, of course, an important piece of social action. Each woman was encouraged to bring a can of food as a part of the admission, but what came next went above and beyond- 235 pounds of food were donated! The food was delivered on Friday morning to Second Harvest Food Bank
