Satellite Telework Center to Open in Los Gatos

Business is scheduled for tentative opening April 16 at space above Main Street Burgers in Lyndon Plaza.

Satellite Telework Centers has announced the April opening in downtown Los Gatos of its third flexible workspace center.

The new center will be located at 20 So. Santa Cruz Ave., suite 300, above Main Street Burgers and across from Los Gatos Town Plaza Park.

It will be designed for people needing meeting space, a professional office, or occasional or full-time workspace—without a long-term commitment, according to a press release issued by the company this week.

Satellite members include consultants, home-based business owners, telecommuters and start-ups.

"We've heard from many Los Gatos residents who work from home and are finding they need a place out of the house," said Satellite CEO Barbara Sprenger. "They're also looking to connect with other entrepreneurs, and that's what the Satellite does best."

Satellite Telework Centers opened its first location in Felton in 2009, expanded to Scotts Valley in 2011 and will open its fourth location in Santa Monica in June.

The Los Gatos facility includes offices, workstations, meeting rooms, videoconferencing, mailboxes and phone services, virtual office plans, business equipment and cafe space.

Members have 24/7 access through Satellite’s proprietary access and automation system, with plans ranging from hourly to daily to monthly.

The Satellite is available for community groups, author readings, classes, seminars, and group meetings on evenings and weekends.

"We've combined the best elements of a co-working space with a comfortable, professional office design that reflects the character and community of Los Gatos," Sprenger said. "The Satellite’s flexible workspace and services can launch the next big start-up, or accommodate a one-to-one business equally well. Our goal, in essence, is to enhance the local community."
